James N. Baker

James is a Summer Research Fellow at the Institute for Law & AI. His research focuses on legal and policy questions at the intersection of international law, national security and emerging technologies. He previously worked in diplomatic and legal roles for the British Government for five years, including as First Secretary at the British Embassy in Washington D.C., at the UK and European Parliaments, and at the law firm Allen & Overy LLP. James holds an LLM from Harvard Law School, an MA from King's College London and a BA from the University of Cambridge.
