Ben is a Senior Research Scholar at LawAI. His research focuses on AI safety evaluation and verification, post-training alignment methods, and AI governance frameworks for high-impact regulatory and commercial AI deployments. Before joining LawAI, Ben spent over a decade as a commercial and human rights litigator in Australia, practising in substantial disputes including class actions, shareholder proceedings, and public law, and subsequently served as COO and General Counsel of a B2B cloud-computing enterprise. Ben is admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He holds a BA and LLB from the University of Sydney, an LLM in European Law from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), an Executive MBA from the University of Technology Sydney, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently completing a Master of National Security Policy at the Australian National University and also serves as a Director of a substantial property investment enterprise.
