Jack Thorlin
Jack Thorlin is a research affiliate at LawAI and an assistant professor of law at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he teaches constitutional law, national security law, and antitrust. His research focuses on applying empirical methods and principles to structural questions in constitutional law and federal administrative and regulatory policy, including the intersection of artificial intelligence and national security law.
Before joining academia, he was an attorney for the Central Intelligence Agency. Prior to that, he worked for nearly a decade in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. During that time, he served as chief counsel for the Senate Republican Policy Committee under Senators John Barrasso and Roy Blunt, a senior counsel on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations under Senators Rob Portman and John McCain, and a senior counsel on the House Oversight Committee. He also served as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center from 2017 to 2023.
