Prof Peter N. Salib

Peter N. Salib is a Visiting Senior Fellow at LawAI, and one of the nation's leading scholars on the law of frontier artificial intelligence. He is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center. He also serves as Law and Policy Advisor to the Center for AI Safety, Contributing Editor at Lawfare, Visiting Senior Scholar at the Forethought Institute, and co-director of the Center for Law & AI Risk. Peter's research focuses on how highly capable AI systems can be integrated into our existing rule-of-law order to reduce the risk of catastrophic harm from advanced AI. His work draws on economic analysis and technical AI research to develop legal frameworks for governing frontier systems.
